B fell ill dramatically on Saturday, slept the day and night, disoriented, shaking, fever, nausea, loss of appetite, exhaustion , the works. :(
First I thought flu and/or body meltdown for all the strain he's been putting on it lately...but he was feeling really scarily awful and worried that he might have inhaled a toxic mix of chemicals while cleaning at work. Sunday I ended up taking him to the hospital and we were there all day as they put him on IV fluids and did blood tests and such. (So yep, we totally missed my art opening at the Islip Museum- double bummer sigh, 2nd major opening I've missed consecutively- but oh well what can you do, this is the way the cookie crumbles). Oddly enough, the time there wasn't horrible...he wasn't in pain and didn't feel as bad..and it was sort of quiet and almost peaceful. He napped on and off and I read to him and we talked and then I watched him sleep and just looked around taking in things.
Anyway, finally hours later, the doctor comes in and says he thinks it might be something called ehrlichiosis, a newly recognized disease similar to Lymes, also spread by ticks.
Oh boy.Great. Ugh.
So now we have to go see another doctor for more tests. They put him on antibiotics in case. Oh I hope not. Well, I hope it's nothing more serious either. He's been running himself ragged with this double work schedule and besides the fact that I MISS the guy and hardly have time with him (awake), I think it's just too much for a body. But he won't listen, and makes me feel guilty for complaining about it as if it means I don't have faith in his superhuman powers or patience for his longer term goals. bleh. ok, I don't know, I just..*sigh*. *deep breath*.
Luckily he's doing a lot better, today he seems totally fine and we did get some fresh air together which was Nice.
Now he's asleep again and I'm going to go back to painting and his dinner is cold as usual.
Just starting to pack up this house too for the move. ugh, moving. the fun never ends. ok, now I'm being whiny and I know it.
apologies.
