B fell ill dramatically on Saturday, slept the day and night, disoriented, shaking, fever, nausea, loss of appetite, exhaustion , the works. :(
First I thought flu and/or body meltdown for all the strain he's been putting on it lately...but he was feeling really scarily awful and worried that he might have inhaled a toxic mix of chemicals while cleaning at work. Sunday I ended up taking him to the hospital and we were there all day as they put him on IV fluids and did blood tests and such. (So yep, we totally missed my art opening at the Islip Museum- double bummer sigh, 2nd major opening I've missed consecutively- but oh well what can you do, this is the way the cookie crumbles). Oddly enough, the time there wasn't horrible...he wasn't in pain and didn't feel as bad..and it was sort of quiet and almost peaceful. He napped on and off and I read to him and we talked and then I watched him sleep and just looked around taking in things.
Anyway, finally hours later, the doctor comes in and says he thinks it might be something called ehrlichiosis, a newly recognized disease similar to Lymes, also spread by ticks.
Oh boy.Great. Ugh.
So now we have to go see another doctor for more tests. They put him on antibiotics in case. Oh I hope not. Well, I hope it's nothing more serious either. He's been running himself ragged with this double work schedule and besides the fact that I MISS the guy and hardly have time with him (awake), I think it's just too much for a body. But he won't listen, and makes me feel guilty for complaining about it as if it means I don't have faith in his superhuman powers or patience for his longer term goals. bleh. ok, I don't know, I just..*sigh*. *deep breath*.
Luckily he's doing a lot better, today he seems totally fine and we did get some fresh air together which was Nice.
Now he's asleep again and I'm going to go back to painting and his dinner is cold as usual.
Just starting to pack up this house too for the move. ugh, moving. the fun never ends. ok, now I'm being whiny and I know it.
apologies.

Oh, gal! I hope it's nothing serious. Although it does sounds like you need to handcuff that lovely man of yours to the bed, and when he wakes, tell him you were in the mood for something kinky but decided he should get some more rest first.

You two are in my prayers, sweetie.

Oh DEAR! So sorry to hear that. I'll be thinkin of you and your man. Poor hun. And to miss an art opening too! Big big hugs and pets and tea. Or probably wine as you could use to have your nerves calmed as well.
Take care of yourself too so you can better take care of your poor guy.

Ehrlichiosis! Wow! That's amazing. I've never seen that in all my four years of practice! It comes from a tick bite. Huh. Well I'll be. He'll be fine after some doxy.

Do people get Lymes out by you? The deertick situation out here is pretty crazy. Noone really dares to do that happy running through the woods and playing in the leaves you see in the movies. Seems like every single year someone else I know is diagnosed with Lymes Disease, or I find out they've had it recurring. First time I've heard of ehrlichiosis though.
He's on the Doxy...feels much better already. (course he finally got some rest too.) But then again, it might not even be this ehrlichiosis thing. Well, we're goin to see a doctor today for a more specific test.

yes because people don't stay put like they should. Who's Noone? Is that someone I want to see running naked, er, uh? He should be fine. Especially if he already feels better. But that doesn't prove whether it's Ehrlix or something else. But keep taking the doxy until he gets the confirmatory (and don't forget expensive) blood tests from the *specialist* (which roughly translates into 'someone who likes to read books about Ehrlichiosis')

Everyone thought I was crazy when I said we must declare war on ticks! I tried to warn them. Ticks... why, they're worse than fleas! Pernicious little bastards. If I had my way, we would have evacuated Long Island a long time ago, filled Long Island Sound with tick and flea bath and suck the whole thing for at least six months.

Anyway, tell B-man to keep his chin up and to quit working so hard. Besides being bad for his health and hard on you, it makes the rest of us look kinda lazy.
