Ok that was better than April Fool's Day methinks. I really didn't expect to befuddle you all that way.heee, twas fun.Just being silly in honor of Lewis Carroll.
It was RABBIT HOLE DAY remember? JAN.27th???? *chuckle* you guyyys....tsk-tsk.
Alrighty, so instead of out and out absurdity I made lil half-truths to have you stumble about a bit. Yes an old bmw 2002 sits in the garage, waiting for the resurrection of the seawreck-like motor... But no, I didn't magically fix it. It sits. and Sits. And stores our boxes in its trunk. That part I mostly wrote for B himself (I left the post up on his computer and when he came home he was like WHATTTT??? You did WHAT???!! and after laughing myself silly I had to break it to him that no...it wasn't true...I'm so sorry...etc..it's this 'rabbit hole day' thing...I was just playin....I didn't become a stupendous car-mechanic overnight...or a gourmet cook for that matter...but um...look!I..make things...and I-I can reeead and a whole buncha other things!:)*sigh* he still loves me.

Now the welding part...well, actually I DO know how to weld...used to use both an arc welder and the oxy-acetylene for metal sculpture....but nooooo I DON'T have some new job that I didn't tell you about working on a team of welders (though I do think a lil hello kitty patch on a good fitting uniform would be superbly sexEH don't you?)
Ok but back to the post:
The 'it's finally warm enough' part? Come ON now, it's freeekin FREEEEZINNNG over here!! FREEEEZING I tell you. And there are NO good dancing places around here. NONE. It Kills me.And it's so cold if I WERE to have an occassion to dress up I don't know how the heck I would because you really can't get me into less than three layers or to give up my warm welly boots. So I'm being a sarCAStic lil rabbit, ok?
I'm hibernating til spring. Y'all can come thaw me out then.

PS: CLEVEREST BUNNY AWARD goes to 'doesn't miss a stitch'[livejournal.com profile] space_botz for her sneaky suspicions.;)

The funny thing is that I have you pegged as a creative, crazy type that would actually do all these things just to gain the experience and somehow use it to inform your art...ahahahaha...I guess not...sort of fooled me...but not really cause I did think you were the sort to do these things...so, since it wasn't as off base as it was intended to be, it sort of...never mind...I am thinking way too much about this...

I know I know..it was sortof the point..that's why I called them half-truths. It was a weird thrill for some reason to skitter about the real and see who could tell which stuff was just a weee bit into the fantasy realm. Obviously since I used to weld and work with rusted metal, all the rest isn't way far off it's just not True is all. I felt only the closest would figure it out...but I even dooped B and my close friend [livejournal.com profile] minorsecondfor a bit so you can guess how believable it actually was.

*giggle*

You're too funny! I recall reading that post yesterday and thinking, "huh?!?" about the job/uniform bit. Fortunately, at the same time, I was a little preoccupied here to think to much about the weirdness of some of those things.

Good one, gal! Now stay warm. We don't want you to freeze off any bits.

CLEVEREST BUNNY AWARD goes to 'doesn't miss a stitch'space_botz for her sneaky suspicions ;)

Thanks :) That should read "doesn't miss a stitch... except when she's pretending she knows how to knit."
Oh, and "doesn't know how to spell 'cleverest'." That's what happens when I work away from home - my spell-dinosaur isn't around to snarl at my typos!

Adding you for the mere fact that you put Lives of a Cell on your infopage. Also, you love [livejournal.com profile] bibble (with whatever degree of platonic detachment) and that is props in my book.

The U.S. reaction to 9/11 reminded me of a specific passage. (http://www.livejournal.com/users/spacemummy/48581.html)

Hello from Mummyspace.

Thomas is a big inspiration. His book about language is just as fun, branching journeys down etymological paths. I love the style, the accumulation of idea and his often winsome reflections. Wonderous stuff.

I buy every used copy I ever find. Given away at least four. But still have the one I first bought. Sometimes I flip it open and read a random essay.

I JUST gave away a copy 2 days ago! so funny.
yep. my own copy is sorely beat up and has no cover.
Which book on language are you referring to?

The book title is Et Cetera, Et Cetera : Notes of a Word-Watcher. And the parallel in the subtitle lets you know you can expect to be entertained in a very similar fashion as Lives of a Cell. Highly recommended!

sure,cmon over kid.:)
try to shower beforehand, though, okay stinnnky?;)
And yesyes I was evil with my lil joke. But i'm allowed to be evil sometimes. my evil is most often coupled with love. Don't think there wasn't a lot of self-deprecating humor thrown in there when I let him in on the joke. And comon, he didn't believe it for more than two seconds anyway.Like I said, I might not be superwoman in all ways, but he still loves me, and vice versa.
