Been staying up til around 5 am nightly now...trying to get the last 2 twelve inch and the last 17 baby(5 and 1/2") pieces done for -scope. Originally going for 20 teeny ones but I think this is what I can do. Ready for resin pour today. *fingers crossed for a good pour* Weather seems to be agreeable finally. yay.

We've booked to stay our first 2 nights in Miami at this bizarre semi-renovated hostel/arthotel called The Creek. Different artists designed/created the rooms.I'm SO hoping we get a really interesting one!
Check out some of the art rooms.
I'd love to do something like that one day. Stay at the hotel and create a room...I'd make some sort of candyland explosion sparklefest room- it'd be pretty darn amazing to sleep within methinks!*pictures the sparkles as she drifts off into lalaland*;)Who knows....I wonder how they select artists...

Anyhoo...Then Mr.B heads back and I'll be staying at the -scope room with my artwork for the remainder of the fair.
Those nights the events go on til 2am anyway....so I'll just be FINALLY closing the door and conking out where I fall I guess. eep, lordy...but I'll have nowhere to hide.. I'll have to find some sort of getawayfromitall space that I can take some breaks at during the whole thing.

Art in America ad is out (December issue- page 85). :)

good luck, my dear :)
scope london was a bit weird, they were all in hotel rooms, but these were traditional english type rooms with very conventional furniture, don't think it worked very well

hee. yeah, that might be a little bit of an odd juxtaposition for a lot of the work> *picturing it*
The Townhouse (where it's held in Miami) is really modern and well,I guess easier in that it's more like a gallery -really white rooms and minimal decor.
New York's (at the Gansevoort) was ok...but not as ideal I think because the walls had a sort of textured paper...
anyhoo...details. I'm just excited (and nervous).
Wanna come keep me company?

yo, you're not calling me FAT now are ya???
actually I went there in January last year and was pleasantly surpised. It's got (well, parts of Miami) this bit of colorful seediness...and well, for me I guess it was cool because half the people were latino and half gay. Sort of refreshing. And the interior design area was fAbulously fruity if you know what I mean. I got a big kick out of it. Besides at this time, it's all people coming from all over so there's no set demographic.
But fine, don't come.:P I'll just drink your glass too.
*has imaginary drunken tea party with cyberfriend juno in room*;)
