Ok, yay. I just received a little bit of much needed income.(whew) The final installment on an artwork I sold a long while ago.
And the 10% donation goes to.......*drumroll please*...BridgesAcrossBorders.org - a small group of compassionate individuals trying to make a positive difference through fair trade, artisan cooperatives, education in Cambodia, etc. If you read that article I posted earlier on the Cambodia Landfill- Life in Hell...this is where it came from. After looking through the site over and over again, I think they deserve a lot of support in the directions they are choosing to go. Check them out.:)
And please, if anyone can contribute anything towards the Peace Corps Sheouba School Construction in Mali Project, please do. It's kind of depressing how slowly its going...once again, as if people have lost interest in them.:( I've been donating, but according to the numbers since last year...it's actually Only me. And at that rate...*sigh*. We need a whole bunch of people to donate/contribute a little something...and whittle that number down and get that school built already. How depressing to have a half-built school just sitting there, unusable.

Date: 2004-05-11 08:53 pm (UTC)I just ordered a book called Across the Wire (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0385425309/qid=1084333900/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_1/102-6519776-0037720?v=glance&s=books) that deals with a similar situation in Tijuana Mexico.
What did you think of the site? Small group, big hopes, no?
