Here are some pics from yesterday's trip to NYC for the opening....
We went in by bus and as B slept I looked out the window and fell into the colors and windowpane and carblurstripes

and the amazing low sun setting the skyline ablaze as we neared the city.

It was *%#&in freeeeeezing in the city, we stopped at the Frontier for a warm-up escape, an Irish coffee for me a soup for him.I painted my nails blue in the bathroom and we headed on to the gallery.
me and the amazing Ms.A at the reception:

and a shot of my pieces there. Not too happy with the display. I wanted to recreate my studio in part but I had never seen the space and it was really small for what I had in mind. Couldn't adjust lighting either sadly enough, so the candle mood effect just wasn't there. Tape playing a recording of my hammering, slow, meditative...was of course drowned out by voices. That I expected. It'll be more for if someone comes by the gallery on a quiet day. I'd like to try this set up a bit differently in another space one day and try to get the mood right.anyhoo, here's a pic. Book of Hope Page 1 and Prayers on the wall, Puja in progress on floor with sound and candles.

No time for after festivities because of the train schedule :( so we grabbed deli panninis and ate them in a freezing cold deli with Ms.A and then enjoyed painful frostbitefeeling in fingers as we tried to hail a cab for way too long.
caught the train back, drifting in and out of sleep with B...
