Zipping through the Pulse fair with no time left...I like and am disturbed by this piece by Sam Messenger for many understandable reasons;) see next pic.
then WHOA!! THank goodness I got to see this!!! I adore Megan Whitmarsh's work. I have a print of Workstation and this is like seeing it all come to life. seeing this installation alone made running through Pulse as they were closing worth it for me. I wish I could visit it again and again somehow and just spend time in it. the detail was just incredible. all the pieces of 'paper' were made out of fabric and embroidered with little pieces of plastic sticking off like clear tape....her desk, bookshelves, art table etc (oh how I want just one tube of paint plushie!:). I would have snapped a dozen photos of every detail I was oohing and squealing over- my my camera battery finally died after the long day! ergh. I got these 2 at least:
Megan Whitmarsh - section of installation @ Pulse art fair...all handmade recreation of her studio and workstations. 'papers' made of fabric with embroidered notations etc. *sigh* other parts were her bookshelves and painting table...I am going to search out more detail pics on the web.
