Apologies for being away so long!
I've been fully living and thinking a lot and writing it all in my portable bookjournal instead...
Too much to retell here now in detail... I've actually been very social:many art receptions( my own and of friends), a concert (harmonically tuned piano),going to my friends' music gigs, a pirate party barbecue ;),a rushed NYC trip to art-swap with a friend and buy materials, etc, etc.
AND also been very introspective: lots of thinking, sketching out ideas, working on art, sitting outside, breathing, looking, reading, writing, etc.
Guess it's been balanced actually, but it's felt like a very busy few weeks.

Updated my site and made nice digital invites with pics and links for my upcoming shows and sent them out(click)...then torturously hand-wrote all the postcard mailings to those on my regular mailing list that I don't have e-mail addresses for... til my hand was aching and sore. ech. Yes, I much prefer e-vites.;) If anyone's interested go to my website to get the scoop and see some new artworks.

I DO want to tell all about what I've been up to in more detail (so many interesting moments)...guess I'll have to do it in spurts and hope I catch up. I guess one day my bookjournal and computer will merge in the form of some ultra-portable mini-laptop with easy sketching capabilities (yes I know they exist but I'm sure I can't afford it)....and *sigh*...it'll be SO good.
*daydreams*:)

i want one

the form of some ultra-portable mini-laptop with easy sketching capabilities

don't forget the fully immersive quantum-foam holographic workstation within a hexagonal compartment of the otherwise limitless Infinite Library, all of your favourite books at hand and at easy reach with context-sensitive groupings of related personalized-microcosmic observations that you have built up successively and evolutionarily combined with an iterative and "intelligent" cross-referenced cross-referencing index to the sum total of greater human experience, uncovering ancient trails in the hinterlands of idea...

i checked out the pics of your work...of course i did that a long time ago too...i would like to see the actual pieces (the pics are soooo tiny)

i definitely find your ideas interesting...i love your statement...

and i really appreciate it all more since i volunteered at a gallery recently...and the stuff that is there is not so interesting to me.

so much of art...

i guess so much of everything is very shallow

and not very challenging...

and many artists' statements are also very typical...

for example...i can tell what the work is about before i even read the statement...i already know the whole of it.

that's not interesting.

with your work, i would see it...feel it in my mind (and i would probably reach out and touch it when no one was looking)

i would probably get a very slight incling of your ideas...but by no means know what in the hell i was really getting into.

And then i would read the statement about languages and textures and how they relate to the universe...and it is all so mysterious and fascinating to me...and you seem to actually know something about it as well.

any how...i don't want to go on and on...(i'm sure you hate longwinded compliments)

when it comes to art...i hate almost everything, and i like what i like. and then there's the stuff that i do...and with that...

i love doing it

love to watch the paint dry

love it for about a week.

then i hate it...or loose confidence in it.

eventually i can accept it again.

i'm not very focused...

i'm all over the place...(yet no matter what medium i work with i'm told that i have a strong distinctive style...so mayhaps my mind as the constant will provide me with the cohesion they need)

but i'm always working in some way.

i've gottt-ta write out a statement of some kind...so that i can point to it when ever someone starts asking too many questions about a piece.

i'm good at writing other peoples' statements...i just hate to even say that i'm making a statement though...i'm not really trying to make a statement...it just so happens that i like to paint and draw and grind other soft things into harder surfaces...

i like to cut things and tape things and nail things...all the time
all the time
all the time.

(shhhh...don't tell them...i'm just like a child playing in the dirt)

wow. that really meant a Lot. thank you.
And don't worry, i LOVE long-winded compliments! hehe. SO much better than long-winded insults.;)

SO now here's a part-joke for you!:
When children with big hearts are being creative, letting feelings move through them and being open to moving things around, playing in the the dirt so to speak, the aliens watch them! They love it! Then one day, they come visit, hit you over the head and tell you what to make. From then on you work for them. And you don't mind one bit. Cause they're pretty cool.:)

So did you figure out which was the joke part yet?

YEP!! It was the double the's!!!!!!!!;):);)
