The resin pours have been a bit hard. I think I ruined 2 favorite pieces yesterday. ughhh. I understand fish eggs concept more....if it's a risky process start to finish, make plenty so you're not devastated by losing some of your babies. or something. ugh. Don't know whether I should try to recreate those 2 (or 3) from scratch or just focus on trying to bring the rest through the next stages.*sigh*

In between pours yesterday I sat out on the back deck pretty exhausted. My back ached from bending over the pieces all tense, heatgunning and propane torching out bubbles and removing lint everrrrr so carefully. so I stretched backwards...allll the way over the railing...and lo and behold, right smack in the middle of the sky straight overhead is a rainbow.(!!!??) sweet smile of the universe. I never would have seen it if I didn't do that weird stretch.

other little perks include vanilla mint chapstick (yum!), cheese sandwiches, long stripey socks warm out of the dryer, microscopy image searches and miho hatori music.

ok time to work on the next layers....so much to do and it would be best to pour again tomorrow..have to get over the discouraged thing and move forward. *sigh*

*eep!* there is nothing worse than working on a favorite piece and a final touch or a step in the process causes devastation. I restarted a painting I felt would be one of my best (who knows how it was supposed to end up) when the over gessoed canvas started to act like a sponge and not a canvas. I've also been horrified at the point of varnishing a finished SOLD painting and realizing brush strokes and milkiness was starting to become a serious issue. ACK! I hope you have much better luck today... rainbow or not!

thank you babes:)
well, the rest seemed to turn out fine at least (whew). and I did a second pour after layerwork on a bunch of them and that turned out really well thankfully.

I have just a bit more to go and then I'm done. (with this grouping)
I'm staring at 6 of them in a row right now....

there might be a way to save those other 2 later...but that experimental project will have to wait til after the fairs.
