Largest Love Letter
Nov. 19th, 2006 02:10 amAfter the Uplift Academy Workshop on New Media and Infectious Good, one of the participants,
Nipun Mehta, has wowed us all by embodying it beautifully and creating a wonderful site called KarmaTube.. an aggregator of inspiring videos gleaned from the net.mission:
"The world is full of wonderful and inspiring stories, some unfolding in distant places and others right next door. KarmaTube is dedicated to bringing more of these stories to light, using the power of video and the internet to demonstrate, and then multiply, acts of compassion, generosity and selflessness.
Our vision is to create -- and connect -- a global network of volunteers awake to capturing these stories, using simple digital cameras and technology. From polished and professional to diamonds-in-the-rough, these short videos have one crucial thing in common: they celebrate the work of local change agents, demonstrating the ways "do something" moments can be "tipping point" experiences for individuals and communities. To complete the circle, KarmaTube offers three simple suggestions for ways to support the action and spirit shown in these videos.
KarmaTube is an evolving project of CharityFocus (and like CharityFocus, is all-volunteer run). We hope something here moves you to, as Gandhi advised, "be the change you wish to see in the world."
I was watching a few more today with my dinner...and was especially moved by this one
World's Largest Love Letter.
