Another milestone:
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the Earth System Research Laboratory (ESRL) have arrived in Second Life, .....The NOAA's sim is called Meteroa, which is derived from the Greek adjective meteoras which means 'suspended in the air' . On this lovely island sim you can find fully interactive educational demonstrations about the ocean and weather....(including tsunami simulations!)...

Date: 2006-08-26 04:59 pm (UTC)I'm focusing right now on trying to balance/exercise other arms of me (so to speak;)....involved with local community, arts and group networking...and the reinforcement of certain values...creativity and collaboration on very simple individual levels first...connecting/collecting more troops in a way...planting seeds. It will all come together, the 'real' and the 'virtual'...soon. I am so happy to know you are exploring SL's potentials....there is so much that someone with your gifts can do to help create a pier10 out of this microcosm...please keep it in mind and perhaps play with the concepts?:)I still think the boardwalk/amusement area (http://www.omidyar.net/group/bwi/news/13/) for charities would work well...an ongoing event..

Date: 2006-08-26 04:42 pm (UTC)for 10%ing...that's the fun part!-try to think of what issues touch you most, what you could change if you could...what groups you think are doing something worthwhile and could use some support...or something that you think doesn't get enough support/attention as it should...the 10% is a way for you to direct some energy in a direction you want to grow/heal..
there are a bunch of suggestion links I've been collecting on the 10%club intro page (http://community.livejournal.com/10percentclub/profile)...and some good recent posts there...
I still love going through the peace corps volunteer projects page (http://www.peacecorps.gov/index.cfm?shell=resources.donors.volproj) and choosing that way....
Let us know what you choose on the 10%club comm! I love hearing that.:)
The capitalists are coming!
