Friday I'm a-drawin in the studio...Brent has two events to go to for work...website and magazine launch parties. He bribes me with the promise of free wine and I try to fancy up to presentable. First one I ran into a sweet old friend which was nice,but all in all I felt awkward and out of it as we needed to say quick hellos to this and this and rush off. Next one...the Vox magazine launch party was swank. Fancy Lighting design projections...silly bizarre snacks (salmon lollipops and mini cheeseburgers on sticks!). And...oh lookee!...enter...the evil blue drink. Ok, at first this drink was my best friend, let's be honest. Mysterious and yummy and free! I had one and began to feel very friendly and amused. Yay my friend Joanna showed up and we got to catching up. BlueDrink #2...I'm having a ball. Old friends, new friends,Sara, Bill,Mosel, ...little snacks..and sure just one more BlueDrink !(No D, you know #3s, don't do it)Ha what the heck..it's freeeee!. I got descriptions from Brenty later. I remember snippets. I seem to have enjoyed myself at least. ahem. But the evil side of the drink hit full force as I made it to the car...and poor Brenty had to take care of me after that. "Nooo I'm Fiine jussst gon sleep..."(in a crumpled heap on the floor in the hallway)...and then a miserable spinning nauseous morning. yeahyeah crime...do the time...yeahyeah..I know. It'd been a while since I'd been in that state (at leaast).

Saturday we travel to see Kimmy's new baby....she slept chubbycheeked in my arms while the family chattered on about vacations and we watched an old video from when Kimmy was born...back in 1971...amazing to see...looks like yesterday...and now she has children of her own..we are our parents age...?...these cycles never cease to amaze me.

Later rushing back to catch the art reception at Silas Marders Gallery thatjaney's in. Nice show...all small works...feeling pangs of hey I wish I was in this..waaah. ha But enjoyed.Then a bite to eat with Brent and Janey before heading to another reception at Mosel's gallery on Butter Lane....sensual wood sculptures and lots of familiar faces.

back in the studio today (I love my new schedule of a few days off in a row!)...Finished the cigarbox finally. Otherwise not so productive but figured a few things out for the pieces I'm working on. A bit more painting and drawing on a minimap and room layout. Started a new Bookjournal. magicMay. Excited about possibilities. Things weaving together... Storms outside.
