oh i've wanted to read that (Immense JOurney) for a while now... did enjoy the Firmament of Time.... but first found out about Thomas at Chrstopehr Bird's place befofore he died-- i think my fav. writer in the genre even tho he's a bit on the wacky suide (oh like Thoms isn't?? oh like I'm not? buah ha ha...)

oh, and also for movies up there )ok w/no TV it's not as easy, unless lik eme you're a part time VJ (no not the mtv kind, the experimenta/rave//club kind) and Have access to projectors and small lcd screens...) theres an amazing series with david atenborough called "the Private Life of Plants" (much like the Bird/Thomkins book in title-- no esp for plants or stuff liek that but a very intimate look at biolife.. somewhere between baraka and microcosmos)

oh wow, where do you live? my friend ms.vitaminV just graduated from Parsons and is super intrigued by VJing concept....would love to see/talk bout it...maybe something she would get into .....she doesn't have an LJ but she's on friendster....are you?love,D

i live up in canada (usually montreal but recently thr grey hub; toronto) (VJ is my hobby these days, started to mix in '93 (eek!) and eco work makes my spirit feel lighter.... thats a totally different story tho) I have some AMAZING friends in NYC who VJ and run events (A great one is EyeWash another amazing BYOLaptop event is called SHARE run by super sweetie vj skyvat


they are really open peeps so all one has to do is show up and say "hey i'm interested..." also a greatplace to get as much info about it as anywhere is VJCentral.com (i dont knwo firendster but am a mod at VJC) if you want to knwo about style, media, softwares, hardwares, theroums... its all at VJCentral. Actually as of today there's 10,000 VJ members from all over the world.... the greatest place to start for any wannabe VJ!!

she's been to Share! that's what got her all excited! It was really goog to hear her all enthused. hmmm. Toronto....one day I've got to get myself there, super super peeps in that area. I'll tell V about Eyewash in case she doesn't know bout that one. thanks!:)

oh cool! yeah she will def't dig EyeWash... but also tell her that if/when she goes back to SHARE, to ask to speak with Dan (skyvat) and to tell him that she's a friend of a friend of littleCatalyst (me) and that lil'Cat siad that "Danny's got to show her the ropes"... he is a totally nice guy and safe and very well connected in the nyc scene...
