Working on my artwork...the piece I will call Entanglement. I search the web and read up some more on the subject from all sorts of articles.Hours pass. There is a new book I would like to find and read on the subject as well.Anyhoo, here are some snippets:
From Library Journal:
"Entanglement" is one of the more remarkable aspects of quantum mechanics, a field that has produced a number of counterintuitive phenomena. Entangled particles are created in the same process and retain a connection even if they become far separated physically. If a change is later imposed on one of these particles, then there instantaneously occurs a change with its entangled partner, even if that partner is very far away in another part of the universe. Thus, the news of the change is transmitted with infinite velocity by an unknown means. Einstein aptly referred to this phenomenon as "spooky." In recent decades, researchers have shown entanglement to be a physical fact, thereby vindicating quantum mechanics, spooky though it may be.

From Scientific American:
Trillions Entwined
Clouds of Atoms Are Linked By A Weird Quantum Yoke(avaD's note: ha. that should be the descriptive subtitle to my artwork)
By Graham P. Collins

"....Entanglement, long just a controversial plaything for theorists, is the weird phenomenon whereby the quantum states of two or more objects become intrinsically entwined in a partnership that in theory would remain unbroken across a distance of light-years. Previously achieved with only a few particles at a time, this marvel has now been demonstrated with two golfball-size clouds of cesium containing trillions of atoms. Eugene S. Polzik and his co-workers at the University of Ã…rhus in Denmark entangled the cesium clouds by shooting laser pulses through them. The process will enable robust new ways to teleport quantum states and store information in quantum memories, an essential element of the emerging technology of quantum computation."

OOOOHHHhhh, Big theme O shining One. Have the seven sacred guardians commissioned you? Does Togth The Wise approve? Are you trying to keep us on this watery waste forever. (And you still haven't answered my last questions O Shining One of Much Hair.

yikes? which questions? have I lost some marbles? Please forgive if so and remind me- I've been very scattered.
Now about the guardians- there are supposed to be seven? Dangit, I KNEW these kids were slacking. Playing hookie, what have you. The same two always show up, talk some craziness, 2 nights ago one even suggested an insane change to a piece with layers of resin that would be impossible. SO frustrating. But at least they gave me a decent title for the one I had been just calling 'the rivers piece'. They say it should be called 'Waking Sumer'. a bit creepy, but who am I to say.

They are right. Listen to them. They are the two emissaries from Togth himself. They say that one sits at his right hand and has his ear on all important things and the other sits in his lap and holds his spear. Fear them not but respect them. I once spent seven seasons of 9 nemesi with them and great is their power. 'Waking Sumer' it must and shall be.

You have lost some marbles; they fell on my head in a dream. I looked at them polished them and a voice thundered "Do not return til Agalith comes!"
So, they are in a mug on the kitchen shelf until then.

Many Kilogs Of Blessings be yours
O bright shining one

Love
Liz'(The Wise)

Ahh yes the pills. I must take the pills that keep this veil between Bad World and trueworld in place (swallow gulp)

The mist has cleared I see people once more as people.
I love that you are so creative! How long before I see the end products?

Change of subject.

We are soon to be in a position to move out of this are and have a little capital. Last night I had a poweful image of MEETING you. We were both jumping up and down with disbelief in an aiport lounge. I hope it proves to be prophetic.
Love, as ever

Kim

(hehe you'll have to bear with me on my different signatures half of my web contacts want on thing half feel easier with another and I for reasons of work (where I'm known as Liz exclusively) feel as though BOTH are valid - though Kim as I once said is my 'Soul' name.

Heh! *Imagining the airport scene* that would be pretty hilarious and cool.:)
I'm ALMOST done with the pieces. Will post pics VEEEEEEERY soon. (next few days)
*sigh* I have been spinning a bit the last few days- and it bothers me a bit because in order to make it stop I have to deliberately forget things, stop thinking about the absurdities and unknowns and learn to sleepwalk again. and that feels wrong.*sigh* just like our metaphor of taking the 'pills'.

thank you so much for introducing me to this concept. it seems to be a synchronous theme in my life right now. a few connections occured to me while journaling and i was moved to do more research and then i found out a friend of mine is writing a paper on this right now.

:)

i also enjoyed your entry about your own art and coming to abstract art. i am exploring more abstract forms in ideas for some new pieces i am working on. i recently saw a show in minneapolis that really moved me and thus have been re-thinking the styles and methods that i normally work with.

i'm so glad you are on live journal. you inspired me on opendiary and continue to. :)

wow! that IS synchronous!(a friend is writing a paper on it!) I'd love to read it when done, if poss? just a thought. I found three books on the subject that I will try to check out after my shows are up:Entanglement by Amir D.Aczei, Faster Than Light- by Nick Herbert,PH.D, and The Non-Local Universe by Robert Nadeau and Menas Kafatos. thanks for your sweetness.:)
much love,D

As usual, you fscking rock.

Damn, hon, you've always been my favorite artist, and this just shows one more reason why. I love the way you look at the world - and the not-world, and the connections in between. Someday, we really have to get Pier Ten running. ;)

I'll try to post pics soon of the new pieces. There's some incredible microcosm stuff going on when I take close-up/detail shots. It's freaking me out in the best way.
I posted this Entanglement entry on two LJ communities: scientificwhims and technotheory and some good and fun discussion ensued,(can't remember if on both or just one) so do check out and add your forty cents please.
