"The City of London today announced plans to install a dense and comprehensive wi-fi internet network throughout London's Square Mile financial district,"DMeurope reports."The city has contracted UK wireless provider The Cloud to install and manage the network.The wi-fi network is expected to go live in the next few months and cover virtually the entire city within six months.The wi-fi equipment will be installed in existing objects such as lamp posts and street signs which are owned by the city".
