Quick recap:
THurs-Went to an art talk with Ilya and Emilia Kabakov at the Parrish Museum.
"Russian conceptualist artists and husband and wife team, Ilya and Emilia Kabakov, discuss their collaboration on installations world-wide. The artists' installation "The Fallen Angel" is on view until September 12 in The Museum's exhibition "North Fork / South Fork: East End Art Now."
The pieces thay showed indoors...excerpts from The Palace of Projects...were my favorite pieces in the show. brilliant and whimsical.
Sat eve we went to an Art Exhibit and North Indian music performance at the Roseline Koener Atelier in Westhampton. Such a great space. Always a great multi-cultural experience. Flute, tablas (oooooooooh tablassssss), and tambura. What amazing control to be able to play that droning repetitions of the tambura for hours!! The 'ground' for the rest of the instruments! i was majorly impressed.
Sun/Mon-
Working part-time at the knit shop.
Home:Paint marker work on a pink background in the studio..
Late night ebay browsing searches....I'm getting too addicted. It's just endless.
Movie rental nights: delightful japanese animation called My Neighbor Totoro.
(by the director of Spirited Away). Just amazed by the Quality of the animation- the background/landscapes...and the moods/sounds...SO evocative. Loved it.
Tonight: Himalaya- beautiful Tibetan film making me cry.waaaaaah.beautiful.
