Ambrolauri's First Secondary School Secure Computer Room
The First Secondary School of Ambrolauri was built in 1998 with money from the World Bank because the previous school was destroyed in an earthquake. Currently 300 students in kindergarten through eleventh grades attend the school. Teachers at the school recently applied to the American Councils program United States - Georgia Awards for Excellence in Teaching. This program was open to all English teachers in Georgia, however, only seven finalists were chosen to attend the seven-week professional development seminar in the United States. One of the teachers of the First Secondary School of Ambrolauri was one of the seven participants and won a computer and printer for the school. The American Councils will deliver this computer to the school in the Fall 2003. To be able to accept the computer the school must show the American Councils that the equipment will be stored in a secure place. Without a secure classroom the American Councils will not deliver the computer and printer. For this reason, the First Secondary School of Ambrolauri is now requesting Partnership assistance to build a secure computer classroom. The project requires bars to be placed on the classroom window and a metal armored locking door be installed. In addition, the school wants to purchase a computer desk and chair and a current Georgian computer book.
Funds Needed
$400.00
maybe we can all donate a little something? It adds up.
