Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

B and I just watched 'Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind' last night
and I am blown away. All these inquiries into the nature of memory maps and
spaces I've been swirling around in.....and then this movie explodes my
head, touching on them all in a brilliant ways. I think it was AMAZING.

Silly Really odd thing too that had us unnerved and laughing so hard we
CRIED: In quite a few scenes, Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet are wearing 'our'
winter outfits- this denim coat I wear all winter with straggly fake fur
trim and the red pants, and he in the exact olive parka Brent wears....and
in one scene they're being silly running down a beach in Montauk (yep right out
here!)....and it's the oddest oddest thing because of course from the
back....it's like we're watching us in some memory on a big screen.......oh and sure, I know it's just a coincedence (or conspiracy hehe)...but it was just so...surreal.
This movie is the new 'Waking Life'.

I just watched it yesterday too with a sweetie. I can't imagine seeing this one alone, I think that would be very weird indeed.

Of all the wierd movies that Jim Carrey has done so far, I like this one the best. It's got a lot of heart.

I can only dream of what it must be like to have someone so special nearby all the time. It must be wonderful - you're so lucky to have him! Your life is beautiful, and at times I am quite envious. Truly, we have to meet when things smooth out a little here.

I caught that "this is deja-vu'ish" vibe from the whole movie, and while i had no such similar cloting (at least that i noticed) it was acted so well it seemed to fit. This movie somehow touches somthing that resonates in a great many people. The director is a fav of mine, and known for directing music videos for bjork, white stripes, and others... Also jim carreys best performance ever, although the only other character i have ever enjoied by him was in man on the moon.

This movie is the new benchmark for high-psychological-impact filmmaking.

I had only seen that insanely wonderful 'Knitted video' Gondry did that i posted a while back.
I knew the name sounded familiar when this movie came out...but I didn't even put two and two together until a bit later! I'd LOVE to see what else he's done...which Bjork video(s)?
I don't have cable (TV) and one thing I do miss is music videos...
but if you have any specific names or links I might be able to watch on the web- like I did the knitted one.:)?

ha-of course he made the Human Behavior video- that makes such sense now... how I loved that when i saw it long ago...

now I'm thinking...this (sort of recent)Radiohead video I caught while at the gym...I don't recall the name...but he is entering a forest..and he finds shoes...and magical cat weddings/celebrations...? It was amazing...could that be Gondry as well? would that be 'knives out'? doesn't seem the proper name but who knows...
