a night in the studio
studio50
listening to the soundtrack to Run, Lola,Run...while powersanding plywood.
listening to Ani DiFranco's 'Up,Up,Up,Up,UP'...while
measuring and miter-sawing backing for 4 3ft.x3ft. pieces.
Listening to PJ Harvey's Stories from the City...while screwing on the backing 1x2s and priming them all with white latex paint.
For hammering on the actual piece? Yungchen Llamo- Tibetan singer.
Confession:I really like the look of my new 'bubble gum' nailpolish against the power tools. ;)

I didn't realise that art was such hard physical work.

heh. Well, I guess we all do what we must to express the vision inside...and the visions I'm obsessed with demand me to make things TACTILE and complex.(and that require some sturdily built backing). But I often think of those who spent their lifetimes chiselling away stone to create the intricate carvings of temples...in comparison, I hardly work at all!
