Got a whole slew of pics from our Richmond trip, at the opening reception at ADA Gallery, around Richmond, and for the opening of I See the Face, I See the Light in Baltimore. Check em all out and their lil descriptions on flickr:)
You connected with me once long ago because we both had an Annie Dillard obsession. Since then you've gotten married and moved into new worlds with your art. I joined the working world after graduating from college last June and I just wanted to let you know how inspirational your 10% club has been to me. Every month I'm putting aside a portion of my paycheck to donate to some cause (usually related to literacy). I just gave to finish two projects on the Peace Corps page - a library in Togo and textbooks for a secondary school. Thank you for being influential in how I give, and where I choose to put the money that I make. I hope to pass this habit of giving along to as many of the people around me as I can.
Jen, thank you so much for taking the time to tell me that, you don't know how happy it makes me. Sometimes I feel it's all just going too slow..not gaining the needed momentum...but it's hard to see what's happening behind the scenes and from time to time i get a message like this and it really helps.:) We're trying to think of better ways to make 10%ing a visual phenomena so that we feel connected in it and aware of the power of a Number of us doing it. For now we've only got the journal/community on here...but if you'd post on there from time to time about the projects you're donating to and anything that inspires you relatedly it would be wonderful. :)?
