Autumn

Gorgeous fall day...painting and pouring resin. Been up to lots lately...wish I could catch up on here...but in between I'm trying to gather fresh air and moments of peace and quiet....which is so necessary...
Working a bunch at the boutique...but soon will not (!!!).
Researching bits on projects and brainstorms to save the worrrllld;).
Making more vintage button mandala rings late night in my crafting room...loving them (will post pics soon).
Watched The Science of Sleep finally- it was as charming and inspiring as I hoped. My favorite sights were the sewn typewriter and telephone plushies...oooooh.
Those pesky friends P&J invited themselves over again and forced us to drink red wine and play scrabble instead of stressing all night. Geez, how can I be a burrowing hermit at this rate?? I'll get them back. scrabble is divination don'tcha know. my first words were priest, weary and exhume. what on earth does it all mean??;)
Jacob comes by again in the morning to coat his paintings in polyurethane on our back deck...I leave him to the process...but it is sweet to see the meditative trance come over him. Later in the afternoon I am alone and sitting outside for a lunch and am lulled almost to sleep with the peacefulness of it...warm sunshine on my face, insect and birdsong, sunlight sparkling magic on everything and the gentlest breeze rustling the leaves and making the grass flutter.....this is heaven.*big sigh* May there be peace everywhere.

ooo mandala rings! For sale? :) I'm purty broke but I can usually find something someone will paypal me for and I NEED a fancy new ring to get me through winter. ;)

I'm stuckin printing hell right now and thought I'dd babble at you. Like a letter but here. Hope you don't mind. I'ce been painting again. For some reason it makes my man OH so happy. I'm onto the religious series I've had in my head for 10+yrs so it feels really good to explore and expell something simmering for so long. Sadly it's not masterful just cathartic. ;) I've been working in 3D things like spackle and caulk. Yes. I said caulk. I've been dreaming of sexay glossy layers of polyeurathane in my work but am unwilling to commit to the smell just yet. I need to build a vented air sucking item to solve this issue. Again, not really the time of the year for such fun. :( How do you get to pour through the seasons?

No more boutique?! How is that? Hopefully amazingly good things on the rise for my busy bee. :)

Well damn. Dinnertime! I was all set to babble at you for pages and pages.
Vegan grilled cheese here I come!

I may be coming out east with friends this spring for a road trip...

oh please do babble. AND come visit in the spring- perfect!!:)
I'm glad you're painting again too. I remember the religious series....twas intrigued by it long ago!
Pouring resin through the seasons is reidiculously difficult. I'm currently trying to find a professional outsourcing if possible for the larger pieces...somewhere where the set-up will be dust-free and ventilated and temp controlled.

I've got some pics of the mandala rings up HERE (http://www.flickr.com/photos/68825455@N00/sets/72157594226363336/detail/), check em out...I'm getting obsessed with them!:)They're all made of buttons!

We're lucky enough to have a big bulding with tons of space to work on crazy things BUT the venitaltion is no so goot. :( We've got windows that don't open right now in my art studio. We screw the panes in for winter and take them out and staple up screen for summer so then there's no closing them. It's ridiculously crazy. We DO have a basement but I don't currently have a key to it. I want to incorporate all sorts of junk into my religious pieces and I think glueing them on then drowning it all in a thick layer of polyeurathan is the best way to give it the look I want. We'll see.

I'm in LOVE with the blue and pearl button ring. that going on Etsy by any chance? :) I suppose they're all adjustable? I've got kinda smallish hands.

I'm glad to see you're doing all sorts of amazing things. your cake rings are TOO MUCH! I think they'd leave me always snacky. :0 >CHOMP!<

I'm not sure where all we're planning on going this spring because it's the friends who were planning it and want us to come. I'm also hoping to work in my first tattoo from a friend out east. We'll see. But I would lovelovelove to meet you and see your work/studio/loveliness firsthand! I'm quite sure I would perish from happiness and finally meeting ANYone I've met online. :) Esp such an inspiration. Fun fun FUN.

Just be careful...polyurethane can get crackly and yellow...I used to use it a lot. Still like it...but it reacts to a lot fo things...especially glue! (crackle-city!)

I put the TruthSeeker mandala ring up on etsy forya if you're still interested! my favorite...it's the heaviest, most layered of the bunch- I was amazed how everything fit inside eachother!. Yes, all the rings are adjustable so you should be ok you tinyhanded monkey, you.

Well, I would soooo be happy to meetyou in person this spring if you can swing it. If you can't make it out to the east end of longisland I can meet up with you in the city...but it would be so nice if you came to the house/studio:)
