In the Works
Projects in the works:
Unbelievably, the -scope contemporary art fair is really coming right smack to my neck of the woods.
-scopeHamptons is scheduled for July 15-17 in my friggin Hometown!!!. Now, Southampton is known for a lot of things, but I'd have to say that younger cutting-edge art has not been one of em. SO Here's to livening things up a bit and having a little fun here at home!
To celebrate the occassion, some artist friends and I have been planning up a nearby installation of our works- I got permission from my lumber yard to use a bit of their property by the railroad tracks, just steps away from the -scope hall...and so stay tuned for PARALLAX: Art on the Trax....because why the hell not, dammit!:)Shipping containers are amazingly cheap!
I'll have some small works in the actual fair as well.
Will also be showing works in town at the same time as part of ARTspotting, sort of an ArtWalk with shops showcasing artists for the weekend. This was a little idea seed from a while ago that I am so thrilled/surprised/wowed to see actually taking shape. It's become a lot of work certainly- I've never attended so many meetings and networked like this. Cooperative effort is draining...but the potential effects! Even if it just livens things up a Little bit, or plants the seeds for next year!
Been also trying to finish up my cigar box artwork for this year's Hospice auction. I am absolutely later than imaginable. Was supposed to be submitted June 1. I'm making it open-book style with two resin 'paintings' facing/adjacent...in the Immense Journey series style.
Need to do final resin layer tomorrow.*gulp*

I'm all covered in primer, wanna see?;)
Hehe. Today i was looking for a lil drinkeepoo (wine) to accompany me in the studio and all I could find in the fridge was something called 'BudWeiser'...in a Can!. *shakes wino head*
Horrible stuff. I put it in a glass and tried to like it. but no. It just doesn't DO what the other things do.Ahwell, back to coffee for tonight (yes it's midnight but what can you do). Tomorrow I go out in search of another bottle of what I lovingly call Muskrat-wine. It's this thing called Moscato Andrea- magic stuff, sippy dessert wine that makes happy fuzzies on the very first sip. THAT and some good music will keep me in my studio all day. Just have to be careful and only have a little. Balance is everything. Too much and i say to hell with art and I just end up dancing and making out with my arm;).
