Look I'm famoose

There is a profile/article in the newspaper out here on me this week so all the guys in 7-11 are teasing me.;).
eep!.
It's online too so I'll link to it easthamptonstar.com/feature
The real article (in the paper) included two black and white pics of my artwork also, one of 'Mending (detail)' and one of 'Kayla's Community' so that was nice. I kindof hate the pic of me there...I was feeling awkward/self-conscious/stiff. But anyhoo the article is pretty good overall so I'm happy. You never know how a writer will present stuff from an interview...and our talk was really, really casual when he came over so I had no idea what he would put in.

Too bad he didn't get the meaning of Puja right. That's very important to me...but I should have explained fully I guess.
Maybe I'll send him this link that puts it quite well. Just for future reference I suppose since it's too late for the article.
But anyway...nice to be sortof famous. hahagulp

BTW, you look thoughtful and concerned in the photo. It doesn't look bad ... I don't think you ever have to worry about looking bad in photos. You appear very photogenic and have nice (one might say striking) features.

aw thanks you. you're a sweetheart.
I guess I just always prefer self-portraits...because I relax so much more. end up expressing more of what I want to and not being closed.
I just couldn't shake the awkward/tense feeling during this shoot and I knew it.
I guess it comes down to
something about being closed or open
but ahwell. that's my lil personal artistic longing so it carries over whenever I see pics. nitpickin;)

As someone who sees you all the time...I actually think the EH Star photo is great, and probably more natural (and the way people see you) than the LJ self-portrait photos. But then self-portraits are supposed to be the way we want to see ourselves, right? But I'm one of those people who is rude/aloof when people want to talk to me on the street so what do I know? :) Either way, I'm so proud of you and that's a truly awesome article.

So how about being open to appearing closed in photographs?
