some highlights from The Armory Show 2010:

ok we all know that I (MissyCakeland) cannot resist things such as this. ;)
reminds me of all my little obsessions...candy temples and decorative buttons...my missycakeland rings and the little puertorican cookies I grew up with.

great piece by performance artist marina abramovic. Looked like a still photograph...yet once you gazed for a bit you saw it was actually video of her holding a full to brim bowl of water for who knows how long...trying not to spill..

Mori Junuchi's madonna/virgin sculpture at the armory was constructed of a type of sea algae.
as you can imagine- for it's strange blend of spirituality and evolution- I want it.:)

I also fell in love with these soft colored pieces by Hilary Harnischfeger at the Armory Show.
the details and textures were exquisite and utterly satisfying. real stones embedded and lovely nd delicate colored striations created. the kind of thing you love more the more you look at it in detail.
