shoes for good

"As you can guess from the site's name, they sell shoes. However, the thing that interested me is this:
"For each pair of Toms Shoes you buy, the company will donate a pair to a child in need from Los Piletones, a small village not far from Buenos Aires, where the shoes are manufactured antisweatshop style." and HA I just found out Blake has a MYSPACE page (!) so readmore and friend this guy and repost/spread the word.
It has me thinking... What other companies do this type of thing? We often shop for ourselves and buy gifts for others, but can those purchases be even more? Do more...
In the end, my life will not be remembered by how much I acquired, but what I gave away.

woohoo. now This makes sense in the big picture. I just bought the camo-patch ones. I know I'd be buying shoes anyway..maybe a bit cheaper...but dammit THIS is the way to do it.:)
