(no subject)

Day off and finally a big chunk of time to paint but found so hard to concentrate in the studio. bah. I'm going to have to move the laptop out of here. Myspace is like crack. why IS that? Less fulfilling/intimate but yet somehow still so addictive. Like chips...keeps you hungry and snacking...whereas LJ friends page is perhaps sometimes too big/filling a meal to even start eating? hmmm interessssting.

Note: Long hot showers in winter are lush. And putting on clothes that are warm from the dryer..mmmmmmmm:)

Did I mention that a little SHREW lives in the wall of my studio? He is the cutest thing ever. I call him Shrupi. Pokes out every once in a while when i'm quiet, sniffs around...detects me...then runs back in. Once I watched him walk all around...funny little blindish waddle. He'd better watch out because I'm so pet-deprived I'm falling madly in love. My heart skips a beat whenever I hear his little rustling...and I hold my breath, hoping to see him.
Drawing little ferris wheels on pink squares that mean Everything at once. HOw did it get so late...goodnight my loves.

Ahahaha . . . Good analogy between Myspace and Chips, and LJ and more substantial food. So true.

I have a dead shrew in a wee box in my freezer. Her name is Shrewbie. :)

I'm baffled by the popularity of myspace to be honest. I really really don't get it. It's a face page with no real content. I guess I'm lonely enough as a person that I need soemthing real to see and real people out there to interact with so I can't understand.

I painted last night!! I took pic of the underpainting and will psot it later. I'm jsut excited that I'm not dead as a painter.

A shrew?

I'd never expect a shrew to live in a wall. I figured they lived in holes in the ground.

At my parents' house in New Orleans, we get visited by "the critters." The critters are a group of possums that have been around for years. I don't know how long possums live, so maybe we've been visited by a number of generations.

We started noticing them when my mom left food out on the patio for a stray cat or two that was wandering around the neighborhood. They are really cute in a sort of ugly cute way. And they are comical. The suckers are practically completely blind, and they waddle when they walk. They are back-heavy creatures, sorta shaped like an elongated tear-drop.

Watching them eat is a gleeful experience because, oh look!, it's using its little hands!!!!

My folks live near the levee, and I bet that's where they come from. They like to walk on the top of fences... I wish you could see that, cause it's really funny. They're really fat.
