Thank you 2016!.
As part of a vow and dreamvision that is at the basis of my art and life, I am so grateful to have been able to pulse out a record number (for me) of 10%s to special causes and intitiatives in 2016! I believe in the accumulating power of all our small positive actions...and so while I'm here on this planet, no matter what, and in whatever small way, I vow to be part of a nourishing rain on as many beautiful endeavors as possible to help them grow. <3 Let there be thousands of us, reaching out to millions- wherever needed
Please take a look and join me in crowdfunding any of these that move you if you can! And with Determination, the 2017 Wishlist is now underway!

"We cannot live only for ourselves. A thousand fibres connect with our fellow men; and among those fibres, as sympathetic threads, our actions run as causes, and they come back to us as effects." Herman Melville

As part of a vow that is at the heart of my art and life....since 2002...I try to channel 10% of what comes to me back out into the world to nurture positive projects that move me and end uneccessary suffering. Microphilanthropy. Not huge amounts...but small amounts that make a difference in the big picture..given with love and hope...as often as possible.

As the year comes to a close I look back and take stock of all I'm grateful for...I am perhaps almost always most grateful that I was able to do a little something to help support and sustain these wonderful organizations and initiatives that are doing work we need done in the world. It feels really...REALLY good. I hope that 2011 allows me to channel more and more...as there are so many other ones I am looking forward to being able to help in any small (or LARGE!) way..as well as more donations for those I am already connected to.

So here is to the ones of 2010 - follow links to find out more and please join me in supporting any and all of them if you can- may they have all they need onward into the future: see list )

Align yourself with highest good/need. Intense feelings/desire to help more with Haiti, but personally broke with overdue bills and rent,...suddenly in come 3 art sales!? Grateful 10% donations going to support the helping arms of Doctors without Borders, Yele.org, Red Cross and Habitat for Humanity. We are all connected channels. keep the healing pulses going.

Let's use this time to not only send help to deal with the dire immediate crisis but give Haiti the thorough healing and support it needs to survive and Thrive. I keep hearing: Haiti, the poorest country in the western hemisphere. Now is our chance to change that..while all the world's eyes are on it....to plant the seeds and help nurture Haiti enough to turn things around.

(x-posted to [livejournal.com profile] 10percentclub )

Spent Jan 13th, 2010 researching/learning more about the devastating earthquake in Haiti and relief efforts while plugged into Facebook as the messages and pulses spiralled around. Watching/listening for the swarmspeak and effects.

Please contribute to the Texting campaigns -a great idea for getting the masses to help immediately/ accumulating an abundance of small donations:
Text 'Haiti' to 90999 to donate $10 immediately to the Red Cross. amount will be added on to your monthly phone bill.( more info )
Text 'Yele' to 501501 to donate $5 to Yele.org, Wyclef Jean's grassroots campaign for Haiti relief and development. I tried doing both but did not get the reply confirmation that is supposed to come immediately after...?

In my research, Doctors Without Borders still felt the best bet for donating...they were already on the ground and working there....a major facility of theirs damaged...and now working out of temporary structures doing what needs to be done. So many injuries...let's help them help. I chose to go through Facebook Cause for Doctors without Borders.

"Besides the contributions from major countries, innovative text message services and internet campaigns had brought in millions....
A cellphone campaign set up by the US Red Cross had raised more than $8m early on Friday, with the money pouring in at the rate of $100 000 an hour, officials said.
Celebrities urged the world to help as well, and a text message campaign run by Yele Haiti, a grassroots group founded by former Fugees singer Wyclef Jean, who has Haitian roots, had raised more than $2m." - news24.com

please continue to help with any donations you can and spread the word/encourage others.
The mass fundraising and relief efforts for Haiti and the behavior of geese out here this week bring to mind my hopes for what we are capable of. As we try to develop a global helping hand... let this inspire:

Sunday-We had a party at the house for Bunny's Birthday. I was overwhelmed by all the people and noise but had fun. Played and bonded with Kimmy's baby too which was lovely. The kid is Huge at 6 months. Biggest chewable thighs EVer. Goodnatured,Happy baby.:)
We smashed our faces into soft cool pillows and laughed.Love.

Monday- working at the shop.Daydreamin colors and fabrics and yarns...

Tuesday- blew by in nonproductive manic stress mode...but the Dinner party at a friend's house in the eve turned out to be really enjoyable. Good conversations with former almost strangers about abstract and conceptual art and time and life.

Wednesday- Productive, errands with B....then FINALLY
Working in the studio, listening to Cibo Matto....painting on a 2foot piece that is based on Candyland and internal organs....:)Priming a large tondo that will be a tabletop piece...adding glitter to '@ the Lake'.
Feeling good, seeing progress, not wanting to stop.

ThursDay- working at the knit shop...painfully slow day...because I so wanted to be back in the studio.
I'm so excited about Scope Miami...nervous as heck, and totally behind on everything... but really excited.

Researched charitable projects...and decided to donate
10% of latest paycheck to Osu Children's Library Fund through World Library Partnership (worldlibraries.org. It's refreshing to finally see a gorgeous full-sized structure proposed, instead of the normal makeshift libraries that are still so underfunded. I hope they can pull it off. As usual, donate if you can.

Someone contacted me out of the blue about buying one of my baby artworks, so that's wonderful and helpful! He works for a publishing Company so offered to throw in a book or two into the deal. Sweet. Out of the catalog I'm thinking of Rainer Maria Rilke's Poems from the Book of Hours...and/or some Chinese Poetry (by Tu Fu)..None of my wishlist books are on there unfortunately...but I think I'll be happy with some new poetry instead.
TOnight Pony came over and we ate Mexican food and yapped. Then she films me and B talking bout how we met.Wonder where that'll end up.;)
Now I'm on coffee but should be sleeping so I can cram as much art-time as possible into my day tomorrow.
Night night my lovelies.:)
